End-to-end process

A collaborative approach that always delivers.

With DesignExecute2 (DE2), we’ve refined over 20 years of client engagement into a truly collaborative end-to-end process that’s founded on mutual trust and certainty. From our Design Engineering Hub in Pyrmont, our in-house team of design-led engineers partner with landscape architects, developers and public space decision makers to help bring their visions to life.

Supporting DE2 is the Design Studio. Here we share our collective knowledge and experience so that all through the project clients have the insights and inspiration needed to realise every single one of their original ambitions.

Introducing DesignExecute2 – our end-to-end project delivery model

01 Discover

Every project has to start somewhere. During this phase of the process, clients present an outline of the structure or place they want to create. It doesn’t matter if it’s rough or polished, because our team at the Design Engineering Hub is there to provide direction and inspiration through discovery meetings, creative catch-ups and email. And, of course, you have access to the resources on our website 24/7. This means that you can be assured of having consistent and accurate cost forecasts throughout the entire project.

After you’ve pinned down the idea in the discovery phase and have a clearer idea about possible approaches to design, it’s time to concentrate on the overall aesthetic. We’ll closely collaborate with you to help figure out the details, such as the way structures could be built, the most suitable materials, cost feasibility and construction methods. The project will then be workshopped, refined and visualised by our team so you have a clear understanding of exactly what the outcome will look and feel like, as well as knowing that your design will be structurally sound.

This is where the project really starts to come alive because through the act of combining all the sketches, thoughts and knowledge from the previous two phases we create the materials needed to move everything forward. These include engineering drawings, design certifications, geotechnical investigation reports and more. Ultimately, this ensures that the outcome will come together faster, be more profitable and function more reliably.

Now we flick the switch in our state-of-the-art fabrication workshop and pre-assembly facility. This is the same team that you will have been working with up until now, which creates a seamless transition from design to delivery. Here we construct elements of the project before they are delivered on-site. Our designers are still involved in this process to ensure that all manufacturing decisions complement the previously agreed aesthetics choices. Once delivered to the site, our construction crews are in control – and work alongside our design, manufacturing and pre-assembly teams to ensure that the details of your vision are all perfectly in place.

Design-led Engineering

Design Engineering Hub

Formerly our Design Studio and Material Selection Centre located inside the Cooperage (Jacksons Landing, Pyrmont), our relocated Design Engineering Hub is a hive of activity because this is where your ideas come to life. Collaborating with landscape architects, urban planners and artists, everyone here is committed to achieving beautiful design, whether it’s a small bespoke project or a multi-million-dollar installation. Because of our range of in-house expertise, the Hub often takes on the principal design leadership role on many projects.

Our team at the Hub bring the most value to projects during the feasibility and concept stages because this is when we’ll create prototypes to test materiality and construction techniques to ensure your design aspirations are achieved. And because we care about maintaining the initial design intent, we always carry out projects from beginning to end to ensure we deliver the highest quality.

The Workshop

Our state-of-the-art workshop plays a key role in our end-to-end offering. This 5000 square meter manufacturing, pre-assembly and construction facility in Wetherill Park is home to a multifaceted team of fabricators, boilermakers, welders, steel working engineers, carpenters and joiners crew. This team works alongside our design-led engineers who ensure that all manufacturing decisions are perfectly aligned with your vision.

We’re proud of our workshop facilities because it’s one of the reasons why so many top-tier organisations trust us to deliver some of Australia’s most high-profile public domain projects.

Site Crew

Our highly skilled site crews form the final part of our end-to-end service and ensure that your vision is installed with care and pride.

Consisting of carpenters, builders, project managers, site engineers, riggers and concreters, the site crew installs and builds your project and, with input from our design-led engineers, ensures the final outcome exceeds your expectations and is loved by the local community.

Fleetwood have delivered on every promise they’ve made, they are a very professional company who are good at coming up with solutions
